• Was a cardiologist at the Mayo Clinic when Johnson had his 1955 heart attack. Cain, along with J. Willis Hurst and Howard Burchell, consulted on Johnson's case.
 

• Cain and Hurst remained Johnson's cardiologists for the next 18 years.
